The Girl
I've always undertaken craft projects. Growing up in a house with an 'art room' will do that to you. I learned to sew as a girl but I didn't pick up crochet until my early twenties, when having a head full of dreadlocks I wanted to make my own tam hats to tuck them into. For the first year of trying I created nothing more than some very complex knots, but eventually I figured out when to wrap and when to pull through with my Mum's assistance. (Thanks Mum.) However, I only knew how to do one stitch in a spiral. Then along came my friend Emma and I taught her what I knew. Within what seemed like days she'd mastered a whole book full of stitches and techniques and she's graciously taught them back to me over the years since. (Thanks Emma.) Everything on this site is originally something I've created out of love either for my own child or for friends. This makes it happy gear. Enjoy! |
